Beginning Soap Making Classes

Our hands-on soap-making class teaches the basics of cold process soap (the kind our great- grandmothers' made). Design your own fragrance and take home nearly 3 pounds of soap you made!  Everything you need is supplied, including a nice selection of thrift shop aprons...bring your own if you'd like.  Class takes place two consecutive nights/days and costs $55. Classes fill quickly and must be pre-paid. Making Soap with Color Workshop

If you had fun the first time let's do it again! Explore the world of soap and color. Learn what works from the kitchen, how to make swirled bars, how to calculate your own soap recipes and much more.  Soap Your Self!  Open Studio Soap Making Session

Reserve a share of the kettle and make soap here rather than your kitchen. We'll make a kettle of soap and hand you a bucketful to enhance any way you wish. We assume you know what you're doing. This is not a class!  (One share equals  approximately 6 lbs.)  We provide the soap, you provide the creativity: bring your own fragrance or purchase it here. Oatmeal, poppy seeds and simple coloring are complimentary. $45 per share, yes you can have more than one.  Call the shop to reserve your portion(s), 509.466.7223  

Making Lotion from Scratch/Herbal Salves & Lip Balm Combo Class

One-night class packed with info! Let us show you how to blend oils and waters to make your own almost chemical-free hand and body cream (The chemical is a preservative, and trust me, you want some in your lotion!). We'll give you a container of freshly made Aloe Vera /Shea Butter lotion to enhance with your choice of essential oils. Make a lavender body lotion or maybe peppermint & tea tree is more your style. Other choices too.

Learn to infuse oil with herbs and make your own healing salves and lip balms from natural ingredients. Herbal Salves were the first medicines and knowing how to make a simple herbal concoction is a skill we all should have. You'll take home some of everything we make.
